NGAAP group potrait on The Green

NGAAP instills a sense of belonging and purpose, inspiring and empowering us all.

Become A Member

To become a member of NGAAP, simply commit an annual  minimum of $365—one dollar a day—to our collective fund at Foundation For The Carolinas. We urge members to commit financially for at least three years at the outset, and then to recommit annually after the initial three years.

As a philanthropic collective, we pool our charitable dollars to invest in and strengthen the Black community of Charlotte and beyond. We boost the impact of our dollars by also contributing our time, talent, truth and ties to community. We meet an average of once a month to socialize, learn and make key decisions. Members are expected to engage in monthly meetings, which run 90 to 120 minutes, as well as participate in our annual daylong Winter Advance. In addition to monthly meetings, members commit an average of 36 hours each year for volunteer service; community events and forums; learning about trends and new ideas in philanthropy; and engaging in our grantmaking cycle.

Annual member gifts, along with contributions from supporters, fund our grantmaking to Black-founded, Black-led, Black-benefitting nonprofit organizations serving Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

To learn more, email Membership Leaders Ed Franklin and Diatra Fullwood  at ngaap.charlotte@gmail.com.

Please join us in paving a new path, breaking down barriers and elevating Black leadership!
