Why We Give Black on 8/28

NGAAP leads CLT GIVES BLACK because of the unshakeable spirit of Black-led nonprofits. The ones that keep showing up for our children, for neighbors needing a hand, and for the wider community even when the odds seem staked against their organizations. As data below bears out, the odds are often against them. Yet they persist; their “why” matters.

Agile. ResilientIndomitable. These words sum up how Black-led nonprofits show up. CLT GIVES BLACK is part of the Give 8/28 crowdfunding campaign and a national movement to elevate and strengthen these organizations and their leaders. It’s the community elder who started a youth program with nothing but faith and folding chairs. It’s the Gen-Y founder committed to providing others the opportunities she was once denied. It’s every budget-stretching, grant-juggling, joy-holding, impact-making nonprofit organization with too much grit to quit.
