Cheerful Givers, Cheerful Giving

Like fine wine, some things age well with time. After 18 years (and counting!), NGAAP is bigger, bolder and better. Roughly one-half our membership was able to come together and celebrate the holidays at Cork Vault.

The wine lovers among us enjoyed an assortment wines from such Black winemakers as Wachira Wines, Brown Estate, McBride Sisters, Sun Goddess, and Kumusha Wines. In the Zimbabwean Shona language, kumusha translates to “your roots.” NGAAP is all about roots. We’re reclaiming the root meaning of philanthropy (love) and celebrating our ancestral roots and traditions of giving. Chef Oscar Johnson, a local James Beard Foundation Award semifinalist, catered the gathering and honored the our culture and ancestry with diaspora-rooted ingredients deliciousness.

NGAAP members wish everyone a restful and joyful holiday season and a purposeful new year. Read the full message in our latest communique. Cheers!
